Air barrier and continuous insulation, detailed at every lap

The layers that pass or fail the blower door test. Installed over your plywood by our own crews, then covered by the same crew.

Air barrier and rigid insulation on a building in progress

The air barrier is cheap to install and expensive to fix. Once the siding is on, a missed lap or an open penetration is buried. We roll every lap, detail every penetration and photograph the wall before anything covers it.

Rigid board goes on tight and fastened to the schedule in your spec, with furring over it when the cladding needs a drainage cavity.

What's in our scope

  • Self-adhered water-resistive air barrier membranes
  • Mechanically fastened house wrap with taped seams
  • Continuous rigid insulation
  • Window and door rough openings wrapped and sealed
  • Penetrations, transitions and inside corners detailed
  • PT furring strips over the insulation

What we check before it gets covered

  • Laps run shingle style, top over bottom
  • Every seam taped or rolled
  • Penetrations sealed with the manufacturer's accessories
  • Board joints tight and staggered
  • Photos of each elevation sent to your super

Questions GCs ask

Can you work to our blower door target?

Yes. Send the target with the spec. We detail the barrier to it and fix anything the test finds in our scope.

Who flashes the rough openings?

We do, as part of the barrier. The window and the barrier get tied together by one crew.

Do you do roofing on commercial jobs?

No. On commercial work we stay on the walls: from the plywood out, plus windows, doors and decks.
