Vinyl is still the most popular siding on Massachusetts homes for a reason. It doesn't need paint, it handles freeze-thaw without cracking when it's hung loose enough to move, and it comes in a huge range of colors. We install Gentek vinyl, and you can choose a premium color at no upcharge. That's real money you keep.
Where vinyl jobs go wrong is the install. Nail it too tight and it buckles on the first hot July afternoon. Skip the flashing and water runs behind it every time it rains sideways. We hang your panels per Gentek's manual, leave the expansion gaps it calls for, and flash every window and door before the first course goes up.
In North Adams we re-sided a home with 24 squares of vinyl over DuPont Tyvek, wrapped 186 linear feet of fascia in aluminum, put up new vinyl soffit, and wrapped every window and door. That's the level of detail you should expect on your house too, from the first course at the sill to the last piece of J-channel.

Why loose is right with vinyl
Vinyl grows and shrinks a lot between a January cold snap and a humid August day. If a panel is nailed tight, it has nowhere to go, so it bows out or pulls loose. We leave your nails a little proud and centered in the slots, with gaps at every channel, so each panel slides as temperatures swing.
Panels hold up best when what's behind them stays dry. We tape every lap and seam of your Tyvek wrap and flash each opening so wind-driven rain gets turned back out. Vinyl sheds most water at the face. Your weather barrier handles what slips past it, and that's the part most crews rush.
Color matters more than people think. Darker shades soak up more heat, so the install has to account for extra movement. Because premium Gentek colors cost you nothing extra with us, you can choose the color you actually want and let us handle the details that keep every course straight and tight for years.
What happens behind your vinyl siding
You won't see most of this once the job is done. That's why we photograph it before we cover it.
- Substrate inspected and photographed before it's covered
- Every opening flashed so water gets directed back out
- Seams and laps of the weather barrier taped and sealed
- Fastening and clearances per the manufacturer's manual
- Soffit ventilation kept open, corners and returns sealed
- Site cleared and magnet swept at the end of every day
